My Latest Novel is a British indie pop band from Greenock , a town on the west coast of Scotland near Glasgow .
Band history
In 2005 the brothers Chris and Gary Deveney met the musicians Laura McFarlane and Ryan King in Greenock and decided to make music together. During their first appearances, they met Paul McGeachy, who was soon accepted into the group. The subsequent gigs in Greenock were so well received that the band decided to move to Glasgow and try their luck there. The indie scene became aware of the band at a major music fair in Manchester . She then signed the Bella Union label and released Sister Sneaker Sister Soul at the end of 2005 . This was followed by shows at Scottish festivals and as support for the Pixies . In 2006 they released their debut album Wolves , which earned them good reviews and comparisons with Arcade Fire . The band came to Germany on a promotion tour that followed. In September 2006 the double single When We Were Wolves / Pretty In A Panic was released .
style
My Latest Novel combines the traditional line-up of guitars, electric bass and drums with violins, violins, xylophones, percussions and polyphonic vocals. Her musical style is characterized by its contrasting atmosphere and melancholy mood, surprising changes in tempo and unusually epic lyrics.
