August Ludwig Schoultz von Ascheraden (born October 23, 1793 in Zarnekow , Swedish-Pomerania ; † February 27, 1859 in Nehringen ), Herr auf Schmantkewitz, Zarnekow and Nehringen, was a Swedish - Baltic baron who was in the service of the Prussian court . He was envoy to The Hague and Turin and head of mission in Copenhagen .

Diplomatic service

Baron Schoultz von Ascheraden was ambassador to The Hague in 1829/30. He then performed his diplomatic service as envoy in Turin in 1830/31. On November 3, 1833 he was accredited as envoy in Copenhagen and from 1842 to 1847 he was Prussian head of mission in the Kingdom of Denmark in Copenhagen.

Family and possessions

August Ludwig came from the Pomeranian aristocratic branch of the Swedish-Baltic noble family Schoultz von Aschenrade . His father was the Swedish lieutenant and chamberlain Philipp Carl Ludwig Schoultz von Ascheraden (1756-1826), Lord on Schmantewitz and Nehringen, married to Carolina Louise Ulrike von Bohlen (1772-1849). Ludwig August was the only son, he had four sisters. In 1836 he married Wilhelmine Christine von Thun (1795–1861) the daughter of the Swedish government chancellor in Stralsund , the marriage remained childless. Philipp Carl Ludwig Schoultz von Ascheraden acquired the Nehringen, Bauershof, Dorow , Camper and Rade estates in the Grimmer district of Stralsund's administrative district, which he bequeathed to his son Ludwig August. The former family estate Zarnekow went to the widowed Maltzan, who was married to his cousin Carl Reinhold Schoultz von Ascheraden (1792-1825).
