Georg von Berchem
Georg von Berchem (born May 13, 1639 , † June 10, 1701 in Berlin ) was a Privy Councilor under Elector Friedrich III. of Brandenburg, later King Friedrich I in Prussia.
Life
Georg von Berchem worked as a lawyer and politician during the reign of the Great Elector Friedrich Wilhelm and was taken over by his son Friedrich III. promoted to Privy Council. Like Friedrich III. Georg von Berchem also belonged to the Reformed Church and together with Eberhard Danckelmann and Joachim Scultetus von Unfriede , he bought a plot of land on Klosterstrasse in Berlin in 1694, on which the Parochial Church was built. In the same year he lost his son Johann Georg and in 1700 his wife Anna, née. von Martitz, who came from the old Brandenburg nobility. This was still buried in the churchyard of the Parochial Church, while in 1701 he was buried in the crypt of the Parochial Church, which was only completed in 1703. His epitaph can still be seen there today .
