George Madathikandathil
George Madathikandathil (born May 9, 1956 in Purapuzha ) is Bishop of Kothamangalam .
Life
George Madathikandathil received on 23 December 1980, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He later taught canon law at the St. Thomas Papal Seminary in Vadavathoor near Kottayam , where he also held the office of Vice Rector, then Rector.
Eventually he became pastor of St. Mary's Forane Church , Arakuzha, a very important parish in the diocese of Kothamangalam.
The Synod of the Syro-Malabar Church elected him Bishop of Kothamangalam. This election was on January 10, 2013 by Pope Benedict XVI. approved. The Grand Archbishop of Ernakulam-Angamaly , George Cardinal Alencherry , donated him episcopal ordination on February 9 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were George Punnakottil , Former Bishop of Kothamangalam, and Joseph Kallarangatt , Bishop of Palai .
