George Meyer (Imperial Judge)

George Meyer (born January 31, 1828 in Bledeln , Kingdom of Hanover ; † July 13, 1889 in Leipzig , Kingdom of Saxony ) was a German Imperial Judge.

Life

Meyer studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and became a member of the Corps Bremensia in 1848 . Sworn in in September 1849, he was an official auditor in Uslar . From 1852 he was a court assessor in Göttingen , Lingen , Verden and Emden . He came to Hanover in 1860 as a senior court assessor and became a member of the first legal examination committee. From 1862 to 1864 he was a substitute for the Crown Attorney . In 1866 he became a senior judge at the Hanover Higher Court and in 1869 a judge of appeal at the Breslau court of appeal. Since 1875 Chief Tribunal Councilor at the Prussian Upper Tribunal, he was appointed to the newly founded Imperial Court in 1879 . He died in office at the age of 61.
