George Patching ( George Herbert Patching ; born September 15, 1886 in Queenstown , † March 31, 1944 in Pretoria ) was a South African sprinter .

At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912, he was fourth in the 100-meter run . He reached the semi-finals over 200 m and 400 m .

In 1912 he became the British 100 yard champion .
