George William Sampson (* 29. June 1993 in Warrington , England ) is an English Hip Hop Dancers, who at age 14 on May 31, 2008 Winners of the second season of the British talent show Britain's Got Talent was.

Live and act

At the age of six, Sampson began dance training; Even before he became a candidate for Britain's Got Talent in 2008 , he also took singing and acting lessons. In his spare time he danced on the streets of his hometown, while he had gathered a few other young people with whom he practiced street dance . In 2007 he had applied for a place in the first season of Britain's Got Talent , but was not nominated for the finals. Since he and his family and friends were convinced of his talent, he did not give up, reapplied a year later and this time convinced the jury. Judge Simon Cowell said of Sampson's performance: "Last year I thought you were fantastic, this year you are phenomenal."

In the finale of the show, Sampson danced to the three-year-old recording Singin 'in the Rain by the band Mint Royale , which was number 20 on the UK charts in 2005 . A peak of 14.4 million viewers saw the final of Britain's Got Talent on May 31, 2008, and the use of the song in the winner's performance sparked new interest in the single, which subsequently topped the charts on June 8, 2008 climbed.

Sampson was awarded £ 100,000 for first place and the opportunity to perform in front of Prince Charles .

On November 24, 2008, George Sampson's first single was released, a double A-side with the tracks Get Up on the Dance Floor and Headz Up . The proceeds went to the charity organization of London's Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity . The single entered the UK Top 40 at number 30 on November 30, 2008 . On December 1, 2008, the video album Access 2 All Areas was released.

In 2010, Sampson played the character of a sandwich seller in the film StreetDance 3D at the side of Charlotte Rampling and Rachel McDowall , who surprises everyone while dancing. In the second part, he played the role of manager in 2012.
