George Stanley Mbwando (born October 29, 1975 ) is a soccer player from Zimbabwe who played for Lech Posen and Alemannia Aachen , among others .

Career

In 1996 Mbwando left his homeland Zimbabwe and got his first professional contract with the Polish first division club Lech Posen. In 1997 he came to Germany and played for five years for various clubs in the then third-class regional leagues, which can be described as the semi-professional league. In 2002 he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga as a regular with VfB Lübeck and moved to league rivals Alemannia Aachen. There he was able to celebrate his greatest successes on his second station in professional football . In 2003 he became autumn champion with Alemannia and only missed the intended promotion to the Bundesliga on the last matchday. After all, in his last professional game he was in Alemannia's starting line-up for the 2004 cup final against the newly crowned German champions Werder Bremen . Mbwando's time at Alemannia Aachen and in German professional football "after a dubious expulsion" ended in the 75th minute. Aachen lost 2: 3.

For the following 2004/05 season Mbwando moved to the then regional division SSV Jahn Regensburg , where he was used in midfield and in defense. After his relegation to the then fourth-class Bayernliga , he signed with FC Ingolstadt 04 .

For the 2013/2014 season he was player-coach at FC Böhmfeld in the Upper Bavarian district of Eichstätt . In his first season he celebrated the promotion from the soccer A class 2 Danube / Isar to the district class.

National team

Mbwando was a member of the Zimbabwe national team from 2001 to 2006 , for which he played eleven games and scored one goal.
