Georges André
Georges André (born July 26, 1876 in Paris , † March 19, 1945 in Versailles ) was a French winter sports enthusiast ( bobsleigh and curling ) and an Olympian from 1924.
Together with André Berg , Henri Aldebert and Jean Marquis de Suarez d'Aulan , Gerards André finished fourth in the France I bobsleigh at the I Olympic Winter Games in Chamonix in 1924 .
As a curling player, André took third place with the French team in the same games. In 2006 the IOC recognized the curling competitions as an official part of the Winter Games and posthumously awarded him the bronze medal. Until then, said curling tournament was considered a demonstration competition.
