Georges Besse

Georges Besse (born December 25, 1927 in Clermont-Ferrand , † November 17, 1986 in Paris ) was a French manager who was murdered by terrorists.

Georges Besse was the director of the Renault plants in France from 1985 to 1986 . He was assassinated on November 17, 1986 by the French left-wing extremist terrorist organization Action Directe (Commando Pierre Overney ), which saw him as the main person responsible for mass layoffs at Renault. Nathalie Ménigon and Joëlle Aubron were sentenced to life in prison in 1989 for murder.

Besse was the first chairman of the Eurodif uranium enrichment plant from 1974–76 . Two Eurodif uranium enrichment plants are named after Besse:
