Georges Boris

Georges Boris (* 1888 ; † 1960 ) was a French politician , journalist and economic theorist .

Life

In 1927 he founded the magazine La Lumière . In 1938, he was chef de cabinet of Léon Blum and entered in this function for the first time in French history for a Keynesian economic policy one. However , the law drawn up to implement it together with Pierre Mendès France failed in the Senate .

During the Second World War he worked on the side of Charles de Gaulle in exile in London , where he was responsible in particular for contact with the BBC . Boris was also instrumental in promoting the cooperation between De Gaulle's government in exile and the communists of Léon Blum .

From 1946 to 1954 Boris was a member of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations . He was also helpful to Mendès-France during his tenure as provisional head of government in 1946/47.
