Georgi Tajijewitsch Agsamow

Georgi Tadschijewitsch Agsamow ( Russian Георгий Таджиевич Агзамов ; born September 6, 1954 in Olmaliq ; † August 27, 1986 in Sevastopol ) was a Soviet chess master .

In 1971 he was second in the Junior Championships of the USSR in Riga . In 1976 and 1981 the trained philologist Agsamov won the Uzbek national championship.

He became International Master in 1982 and became the first Uzbek grandmaster in 1984 . Between 1982 and 1986 he was able to win several international tournaments. His highest Elo rating , he reached on 1 January 1985 with 2590. After a chess tournament finished in Sevastopol, he went on a hike, when he was killed.
