The parish church of Lamm

The parish church of St. Georg is a Roman Catholic church in the scattered settlement and cadastral community of Lamm in the town of Sankt Andrä in Carinthia .

The small Romanesque church building with a Gothic choir and a Gothic tower is surrounded by a partially preserved defensive and cemetery wall with loopholes and a fortified church on the southeastern foothills of the Saualpe . The cemetery portal is ogival. Directly on the defensive wall is the also listed single-storey rectory from the 17th century with a distinctive hipped roof from the 1st half of the 19th century.

The nave with a flat ceiling has three round-arched windows on the south side and a brick-lined, groin-vaulted gallery on solid pillars with a wooden parapet. The triumphal arch forms the full width of the retracted choir. The einjochige Gothic choir with five-eighth final with a groin vault from the 16th century and a window with Vierpaßmaßwerk the east has exterior buttresses. The Gothic tower in the south has ogival sound openings and a pointed roof. The sacristy is on the tower ground floor. The roofs are covered with stone slabs. The west portal from the 19th century has a pushed arch. In the south wall of the nave there are two probably early medieval stone heads.

The high altar from the years 1670 to 1680 is a rich aedical altar with the main statue of Saint George on horseback with the side figures of Saints Martin and Wolfgang. In the center of the essay is the figure of Mary flanked by the Saints Bartholomäus and Laurentius. The crowning of the altar shows the figure of Archangel Michael with the soul scales. The left side altar as a columned retable with twisted columns and vine leaves from the end of the 17th century shows the figure of St. Nicholas. The right side altar in 1740 as Wandretabel with Volutenschmiegen shows in the top picture the holy trinity which the Holy Donatus appears in the altarpiece Mary Magdalene .

The late Gothic figures of Saints Martin and George, both from the 4th quarter of the 15th century, are in the Klagenfurt Diocesan Museum . There is a baroque figure of the risen from the 1st half of the 18th century, a crucifix from the 1st half of the 17th century in the choir and a crucifix surrounded by putti from the 1st half of the 18th century on the north wall of the nave.

There are bells with the year 1731 and 1843.
