Geovânio Bonfim Sobrinho , better known as Wando , (born March 13, 1963 in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil ) is a former Brazilian football player .

Career

Wando began his career in 1981 in Brazil with CR Vasco da Gama and after just under a year and a half moved to the Portuguese club Sporting Braga . Two years later he signed a contract with Benfica Lisbon . With the club he was in the final of the European Cup in the 1987/88 season . Wando was substituted on for Rui Águas in the 57th minute , but the game against PSV Eindhoven was lost on penalties. With Benfica, however, he won the Primeira Liga and the Taça de Portugal . In 1988 he moved to Vitória Setúbal for one season . From 1989 to 1991 he worked for Marítimo Funchal . After a year at FC Calheta, he was in the 1992/93 season at the end of his career with the Turkish club Torku Konyaspor under contract.
