Certified education and training teacher

Certified training and further education pedagogue is a vocational and work pedagogical degree in higher vocational education in Germany . The new financial statement developed in 2009 has been audited since 2011.

The training and further education pedagogue forms the fourth pillar of qualification in the IHK training together with the certified professional pedagogue in addition to the commercial qualifications specialist and specialist clerk , the technical-commercial degrees industrial master and master craftsman as well as the IT degrees operational professional . This qualification is assigned to the 2nd advanced training level and is therefore at the master’s level . The DQR classification is at level 6.

Preparatory courses can be completed full-time or part-time. According to the framework curriculum, 535 lessons are recommended; there are offers with far fewer or more hours. The exam is taken before a committee of the responsible Chamber of Commerce and Industry . As with all higher vocational qualifications, participation in a course is not compulsory for admission to the examination. The ordinance on the examination for certified training and further education pedagogues regulates the admission requirements and examination content, not the type and scope of the courses.

Tasks and areas of application

Training and further education educators plan and design in-house training and further education for employees in a variety of ways . They determine their skills, analyze specific training requirements and develop appropriate learning paths. You have a basic knowledge of educational marketing, for example developing marketing measures for the acquisition of trainees and checking their effectiveness. You support the introduction of quality management systems , review and optimize existing training measures, optimize examination and assessment procedures, contribute to the creation of examinations and examination tasks if necessary and can be used as consultants in the event of conflicts. In addition, management and management tasks are also relevant.

Training content

The training to become a certified training and further education educator is divided into three fields of action. According to the DIHK, these should refer to each other and be imparted in a competence-oriented manner.

  3. Professional educational action
    • in the company training workshop,
    • in the external training of disadvantaged target groups,
    • in inter-company training,
    • in the coordination of work-process-integrated training and other guiding and advisory trainer functions.

Admission requirements

(1) Anyone who

  1. a degree in a recognized training occupation of at least three years followed by at least one year of professional experience or
  2. proves in another recognized training occupation and subsequent at least two years of professional experience.

The same applies to everyone in accordance with nos. 1 and 2: a successfully passed examination in accordance with Section 4 of the Instructor Aptitude Ordinance or a comparable professional and work-pedagogical qualification.

(2) In terms of content, professional practice must have substantial connections to the tasks specified in Section 1 (2) as well as to technical activities in the training occupations in Section 1.

(3) Notwithstanding the prerequisites set out in Paragraphs 1 and 2, the examination shall also be granted to anyone who, by submitting certificates or in any other way, demonstrates that they have acquired skills, knowledge and abilities (professional capacity to act) that qualify for the examination justify.

Exam and graduation

After the written and oral exam, the examining Chamber of Industry and Commerce awards the qualification of a certified education and training teacher .

In the written test, two coordinated tasks must be solved, in a period of time between 250 and 280 minutes.

The oral examination is a technical discussion on a topic that has been determined by the examination board. The exam lasts between 30 minutes and 45 minutes with a preparation time of 30 minutes.

The practical part of the examination is carried out as project work, presentation and technical discussion, provided that the project work is at least rated as sufficient . This examination, which is only carried out after passing the written examination, should not be started later than one year afterwards. The results of the project work - a written term paper - should be presented in a presentation followed by a technical discussion and justified pedagogically. The presentation and technical discussion should not last longer than 45 minutes in total, the presentation itself generally not longer than 15 minutes.
