Ger Donners (born June 10, 1938 in Geleen , Netherlands ) is a former Dutch football player .

Career

Like his friend Pierre Kerkhoffs, who is two years older, Donners comes from Geleen in the Dutch mining region in the province of Limburg . Like Kerkhoffs, he began his career at the local club Maurits , where he made his first team debut at the age of 16 and became Dutch amateur champion three years later, in 1957. He then followed his friend to Enschede, where he first played in the second team of the sports club . From the 1959/60 season he was also in the honor division . In 1961 he went to Heracles Almelo , and two years later he followed Kerkhoffs again, this time to PSV Eindhovenwho had just become champion, which is why Donners was used in the European Cup . The defender played for PSV for four years before moving to the NEC . In Nijmegen he was not in the starting line-up only once in three seasons . When the NEC moved its training times from evening to day in 1970, Donners gave up his professional career to work in his civilian profession.
