Gerald Bonner

Gerald Bonner ( June 18, 1926 - May 22, 2013 ) was an English theologian

Life

As a scholarship holder of the Stationers School, he joined the army in 1944 and did post-war service with the King's Dragoon Guards in Palestine. After demobilization, he went to Oxford for a three-year course at Wadham College (1949–1952). Then he entered the service of the British Museum , where he worked as a manuscript administrator for over a decade. He taught at the Department of Theology in Durham from 1964 to 1988 and was recognized as a Reader Emeritus .
