Gerald Hündgen

Gerald Hündgen (* 1952 in Bad Münstereifel ; † July 17, 2007 in Cologne ) was a German journalist and DJ .

Life

Hündgen studied history and sociology in Cologne. In 1980 he was one of the founders of the music magazine Spex and was its first editor-in-chief until 1984. He wrote the column Soul Control for them until the late 1980s and in 1989, together with Olaf Karnik, published the book Chasin 'A Dream - The Music of Black America . Also together with Karnik, Hündgen founded the DJ team The Soulful Shack in 1985 , with whom he performed nationwide until 1994. From 1990 Hündgen was an employee, later also a partner and deputy managing director of the marketing agency new act GmbH.
