Gerald Linti

Gerald Walter Linti (* 1962 in Munich ) is a German chemist and professor at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg .

Life

Linti studied chemistry at the University of Munich from 1982 until his diploma in 1988 . He then worked in Heinrich Nöth's research group and received his doctorate under his supervision in 1990. From 1990 to 1991 he worked as a PostDoc with Richard R. Schrock at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology . After returning to Germany in 1992, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Munich until 1994. From 1995 he worked as a DFG scholarship holder at the University of Karlsruhe on his habilitation, which he completed in 1996. From 1997 he worked as a Heisenberg fellow . Since 2000 he has been a professor at the Inorganic Chemical Institute at Heidelberg University . From October 2014 to October 2017 he was dean of the Heidelberg Faculty of Chemistry and Earth Sciences.

Linti's research focus is primarily on the molecular and cluster chemistry of the heavier elements of the III. Main group of the periodic table , with a special focus on the chemical behavior of gallium .
