Kenny Higgins (* 21st September 1982 in Long Beach , California ) is a former American American football - Canadian football - and arena football poker players on the position of wide receiver .

Career

After Higgins had played two seasons at Long Beach City College College Football , he moved to the University of Toledo to the Toledo Rockets . After catching just four passes in his first season, he became a starter in 2004. In the first four games he only caught eleven passes for 194 yards. In the fifth game against the Ball State Cardinals , however, he broke the school records for yards caught in one game (233) and the longest pass catch for a touchdown (96 yards). In addition, he drew level with an existing record with three touchdowns. In total, he caught 46 passes for 697 yards and five touchdowns in his final season.

After he was not selected in the 2005 NFL Draft , the San Diego Chargers signed Higgins on April 25, 2005 as a free agent. He was released on May 14, 2005. He then switched to arena football . After he was with the Memphis Xplorers in af2 in 2006 , he played with the Nashville Kats in the Arena Football League (AFL) in 2007 . Because of his performance with the Kats, he was elected to the AFL's All- Rookie Team . After these dissolved, Higgins was selected in the Dispersal Draft by the Grand Rapids Rampage . There he was the leading receiver in 2008 and the fourth best in the league. By catching 112 passes, he scored 39 touchdowns and 1,552 yards of space. After the AFL suspended game operations for 2009, Higgins signed a contract with the Toronto Argonauts from the Canadian Football League (CFL) in February 2009 . On June 25, 2009, he was released before the start of the regular season. In 2010 he played at the Chicago Rush in the AFL.
