history
Nashville Kats (1997-2001)
The Kats were founded in 1997 and started in the AFL that same year. The playoffs were reached in all five seasons. In 2000 and 2001 they even moved to the ArenaBowl , but lost both games.
In 2001 it was announced that the franchise was going to be sold out of surprise. But not because the athletic performance was poor or the audience numbers were low. Apparently there were discrepancies regarding the use of the arena. The arena operators were more to the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League is interested (NHL). In the end, it was hardly possible to find any free dates for home games. The franchise was then sold and re-established as Georga Force in Atlanta, Georgia .
Nashville Kats (2005-2007)
In 2005, Bud Adams , who owned the NFL franchise Tennessee Titans until his death in 2013 , founded a franchise in Nashville and named it the Kats, based on the original Nashville franchise. He acquired all logo and naming rights, so that the team name and logo remained identical.
In terms of sport, you couldn't build on the Kats' first term in office. In three years they only reached the playoffs and failed there in the wild card round against the Chicago Rush .
After the 2007 season the Kats broke up for good. The main reason for this is that the Kats could no longer present a fully developed financial concept.
