Kenneth Stanley "Bud" Adams, Jr. (born January 23, 1923 in Bartlesville , Oklahoma , †  October 21, 2013 in Houston , Texas ) was an American football official .

Life

Adams attended the University of Kansas , which he left with a successful degree. From 1967 to 1969 he was the owner of the Houston Mavericks . From 2005 to 2007 he was the owner of the Nashville Kats . In 1960 he founded the Houston Oilers (from 1998 Tennessee Titans ) franchise , which he owned until his death. He was one of the co-founders of the American Football League .
