Gerald Willfurth

Gerald "Gerry" Willfurth (born November 6, 1962 in Wiener Neustadt ) is a former Austrian football player (midfielder). From 2005 to 2008 he was the sporting director at 1. Wiener Neustädter SC .

Gerry Willfurth was Austrian champion four times (1982–1983, 1987–1988) and cup winner (1983–1985, 1987) with SK Rapid Vienna .

Career

Willfurth began his career at ASK Bad Fischau . In 1981 he moved to Rapid Vienna, where he was Austrian champion four times and cup winner four times until 1989. Another great success was reaching the final in the European Cup of Cup Winners 1984/85, where Rapid lost 3-1 to Everton . Willfurth played a total of 204 Bundesliga games for SK Rapid Wien. From 1989 to 1993 Willfurth played for SV Austria Salzburg (two times runner-up in 1992 and 1993) before moving back to ASK Bad Fischau. In 1996 he moved to ASK Kottingbrunn, in 1997 to SC Eisenstadt , where he ended his active career in 1998.

Between 1983 and 1991 Willfurth made a total of 30 appearances for the Austrian national team and 3 goals.
