Gerben-Jan Gerbrandy (born June 28, 1967 in The Hague ) is a Dutch politician of the Democrats 66 party .

Life

After school Gerbrandy studied at Leiden University Public Administration . After completing his studies, he spent a year in the United States and then worked for the politician Joris Voorhoeve . From 1994 to 1998 Gerbrandy worked for the politician Doeke Eisma as an employee. Gerbrandy is a member of the left-wing liberal Democrats 66 party . Since 2009 he has been a member of the 66 Democrats in the European Parliament and a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe .

As a member of the EU Parliament, Gerbrandy is Deputy Chairman of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and of the delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly . He is also a member of the Budgetary Control Committee and the delegation to the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee . He is also a deputy in the Committee on Budgets , in the delegation for relations with the Maghreb countries and the Arab Maghreb Union and the delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean .
