Gerben Budding (* 1987 ) is a Dutch organist and conductor .
biography
education
Gerben Budding completed his training at the Utrecht Conservatory . There he received a bachelor's and master's degree in organ with improvisation ( summa cum laude ), a bachelor's and master's degree in choral conducting (with distinction) and a first degree admission as a church musician .
Career
In 2009 Budding was appointed chief organist of the Great Church in Gorinchem , succeeding Jan Bonefaas . In 2018 he was appointed main organist of the Sint-Janskerk in Gouda with its Moreau organ from 1736.
repertoire
Budding's repertoire encompasses all style periods. He is a patron of old and contemporary Dutch organ music. In this context he had a world premiere with the first integral CD recording (9 CDs) of the organ works of the Dutch composer Samuel de Lange jr.
