Jorritsma made his debut in the World Cup at the beginning of the 2014/15 season in Obihiro and finished 14th in the mass start and in the second 500m run and 13th in the first 500m run. In the further course of the season he finished in the World Cup outside the top ten. At the World Cup final in Erfurt he reached his first top ten and podium finish in the World Cup with third place over 500 m. At the beginning of the following season he won his first World Cup victory in Calgary over 1000 m. At the following World Cup in Salt Lake City he was third over 1000 m. In the further course of the season he achieved further top ten placements and thus reached third place in the overall World Cup over 1000 m. In January 2016 he won the bronze medal in the sprint all- around at the Dutch championships in Heerenveen .
