Gerd-M. Achterberg

Gerd-Manfred Achterberg (born June 2, 1948 in Sülfeld ) is a German lawyer and politician (first in the FDP , and now in the SPD ). From 1992 to 1998 he was mayor of Bad Oldesloe .

Life

Gerd-M. Achterberg is a son of the religious scholar, journalist and Unitarian Eberhard Achterberg and his wife Elisabeth, née. Pusch, and a brother of Bernhard Achterberg .

After graduating from high school in Neumünster , Achterberg studied law and economics at the University of Kiel from 1970 , the legal state exams took place in 1977 and 1979. Until 1988 he worked as a freelance lawyer, then as a judge and consultant in the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Justice. From 1992 to 1998 he was mayor of Bad Oldesloe. Since 1998 he has been working again as an independent lawyer specializing in criminal law and penal law in Neumünster.

Achterberg was a member of the FDP from 1964 until the end of the social-liberal coalition in 1982, a state board member of the party, councilor and parliamentary group chairman in Neumünster, federal chairman of the Liberal University Association (LHV) and state chairman of the German Young Democrats (DJD). In 1984 he joined the SPD. He also sat for the Social Democrats in the Neumünster Council.
