Gerd Aufmkolk

Gerd Aufmkolk (* 1943 ) is a German landscape architect .

Career

Aufmkolk studied landscape architecture at the Technical University of Berlin and graduated in 1970 with a diploma. He has been working as a freelancer since 1974. Gerd Aufmkolk is the founder and co-owner of WGF Landschaft GmbH in Nuremberg and has been its managing director since 2007 .

The focus of his work is landscape planning, with a focus on urban planning projects. He also acts as a judge and moderator. Until 2008 he was honorary professor for open space planning at the Technical University of Munich . At the International Academy of RWTH Aachen University he was a guest lecturer in the postgraduate course in redevelopment .

Awards

  • 1997: German Landscape Architecture Prize for the Scenarios project for the development of a cultural landscape
  • 2005: Awarded the German Landscape Architecture Prize for the Südstadtpark project in Fürth
