Gerd Pieper (entrepreneur)
Gerd Pieper (born August 28, 1943 in Eutin ) is a German entrepreneur .
Life
Pieper studied business administration at the University of Cologne . In 1969 he joined his parents' perfumery business, which was founded as a soap business on May 16, 1931, and between 1978 and 2012 was the sole managing partner and owner of Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper GmbH. Since 2012 his son Oliver Pieper has been a member of the management of Stadt-Parfümerie Pieper GmbH with 150 branches and around 1,100 employees, including over 140 trainees. Since July 1, 2018, Oliver Pieper has been the fourth generation of sole management, Gerd Pieper only works as a consultant.

Gerd Pieper has two sons, Torsten and Oliver Pieper, who are both employed by the family company. He is married to Gabriele Pieper.

- 1992–2011 President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in the central Ruhr area in Bochum.
- 2000–2009 President of the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Political activities
Pieper is a member of the CDU , was a member of the council of the city of Herne and from 1981 to 1994 honorary mayor of the city of Herne.
