Gerd Schröter

Gerd Schröter (* 1941) is a German sports scientist and university professor .

Life

Schröter received his diploma from the German University of Physical Culture (DHfK) in 1968 , the topic of his thesis was "On the problem of fluctuation in athletic sprint disciplines". As a result of the completion of his doctorate B 1978 (title of his paper: "On the development of university textbooks: a contribution to the function, design and application problems of the university textbook in the field of theory and methodology of training. Dissertation in connection with the manuscript for the university textbook 'Basics der Leichtathletik '”) Schröter worked at the DHfK as a professor of theory and methodology in athletics training and remained in office until 1991 when the university was closed. In his scientific work, Schröter dealt, among other things, with children's and youth sports in athletics, with aspects of advanced training, the teaching of technology in various disciplines of athletics. Together with Karl-Heinz Bauersfeld , he published the book “Basics of Athletics”, which appeared in several editions, and in 1992, together with Klaus-Jürgen Hempel and Wolfgang Lohmann, he published the book “Athletics - Jump training programs: the path to excellent technology”.
