Gerda Kieninger (born February 21, 1951 in Castrop-Rauxel ; † January 22, 2020 ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1995 to 2017 she was directly elected member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for the state electoral district of Dortmund II .

Life

After graduating from primary school, Kieninger trained as a retail saleswoman from 1965 to 1968. She worked in this profession from 1968 to 1970 before taking a break from her education until 1973. From 1973 to 1978 she worked as a self-employed clerk. After that, from 1978 to 1988 she took another break from raising children and then worked as an office worker from 1988 to 1995. She died surprisingly in January 2020.

politics

Kieninger joined the SPD in 1980. She became city district chairwoman of the Working Group of Social Democratic Women (ASF) and later an advisory member of the Dortmund sub-district committee of the SPD. From 1998 to 2002 she was a member of the state executive committee of the SPD in North Rhine-Westphalia. From 1989 to 1995 she was a member of the Dortmund-Eving district council. She was chairwoman of the workers' welfare in Dortmund and deputy chairwoman of western Westphalia of the AWO. She was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from June 1, 1995 until the state elections in 2017 . She was a full member of the Committee on Labor, Health and Social Affairs and was the spokesperson for the Committee on Women, Equality and Emancipation.
