Gerdi Westermeyr

Gerdi Westermeyr (* 22. December 1935 in Munich as Gerdi Hibler ) is a German master tailor, managing director and long-time representative of the German Trade.

Westermeyr attended elementary school in Prien and the upper secondary school in Traunstein , which she left with secondary school leaving certificate. She then did an apprenticeship as a dressmaker, which she finished in 1958 with the master's examination, and then opened a bespoke studio in Prien am Chiemsee. In 1984 this atelier joined a fashion store for exclusive women’s and men’s fashion, and in 1988 Westermeyr founded his own GmbH, of which she became the sole managing director. From 1973 to 1994 she was head master of the Rosenheim clothing trade guild , in 1976 she became state guild master , and in 1979 she was deputy chairwoman of the Federal Association of the clothing trade . In 1990 she became President of theGerman fashion institute in Munich as well as elected to the presidium of the Central Association of German Crafts , 1994 as Vice-President of the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria . From July 10, 1995 until its dissolution at the end of 1999, she was a member of the Bavarian Senate .

Gerdi Westermeyr is a member of Soroptimist International .

The specialty shop in Prien still exists today. Gerdi Westermeyr is still the managing director, the owner is now her daughter Sabine.
