The talk - homo, bi and trans e. V. is a non-profit association in Dresden that advocates the issues and equality of homosexual , bisexual and transgender people. The sponsors are the youth welfare office of the city of Dresden and the state prevention council of Saxony.

history

The "Homosexuality" working group met for the first time in 1983. Four years later, this working group organized the first educational projects at Dresden schools under the name "GEREDE". In 1989, GEREDE became an FDJ youth club , was able to issue statutes and set up its own working groups. The “Pink Telephone” was the association's first advisory service. Shortly after the reunification , the Club Gerede became a registered association on August 21, 1990 . In 1991 the Gerede e. V. the first Christopher Street Day in Dresden . From 1995, the association was given the status of an independent provider of youth services awarded. In 2003, Gerede celebrated the 10,000th student reached as part of the school education project. Two years later the program was expanded to include the youth café “Kontakt”, which offers like-minded young people the opportunity to exchange ideas, find support and get to know other young people. In 2010 the Gerede e. V. celebrates its 20th anniversary.

encounter

The association offers a platform for a wide variety of group and leisure activities for those of all ages. A large number of open groups offer the opportunity to come into contact with people and exchange experiences. Groups that take place regularly include the Christian Stammtisch, the running group, the TransID group for over 27s, the trans * youth group and the meeting of queer kids for rainbow families. The club's library and the boys 'and girls' club are open weekly.

consultation

For people who are looking for support regarding their sexual orientation or gender identity , Gerede eV offers advice on the phone, by letter, e-mail or in person. The counseling offers are free, anonymous and are carried out by trained counseling staff. Relatives and friends can also attend the consultations.

education

The school education project “LiebesLeben” and the educational project “Respect begins in the head” are devoted to educating young people on the one hand and continuing education and training for educators and multipliers on the subject of sexual identity and diverse lifestyles on the other . Trained moderators visit youth groups and school classes on a voluntary basis and talk to the young people about love , partnership , sexual orientation and identity and tolerance . In an interactive discussion, these topics are clearly and sensitively brought up to the young people and discussed. The projects are suitable for young people from the age of 14 and can be scheduled from 90 minutes, but they can also be extended to project days.

Culture

In addition to the annual participation in Dresden's Christopher Street Day, the association offers author readings , film evenings and various cultural events on a wide range of topics.
