Gerhard Assmann

Gerhard Assmann (born May 21, 1915 in Koenigsberg ; † October 13, 1976 in Munich ) was a German confectioner and trade union official as well as a member of the Bavarian Senate .

Gerhard Assmann attended high school, completed an apprenticeship as a baker and confectioner and then completed his commercial training in his father's company. After labor and military service, he entered the administrative service and passed the exam for the senior service. He was wounded and taken prisoner in World War II . After his release, he earned his living as a lumberjack, unskilled worker and employee in a machine factory.

In 1950 he became a full-time secretary at the DGB in the state district of Bavaria, in 1957 state employee secretary and a member of the Federal Employees' Committee and its chairman. In 1960 he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Federal Agency for Employment and Unemployment Insurance . He was also a member of the administrative committee at the State Labor Office in Southern Bavaria and the boards of the Federal Labor Office and the Rationalization Board of the Bavarian State Group. From 1974 to 1976 he was President of the State Labor Office in Northern Bavaria. He was also a member of the Bavarian Senate from January 1, 1966 to December 31, 1971 .

Gerhard Assmann was fatally injured in an accident in Munich on October 13, 1976 .
