Gerhard G. Dittrich

Gerhard Günther Dittrich (* 1919 ; † 1980 ) was a German architect and university professor .

Life

In 1947 Dittrich founded an architecture office in Nuremberg and successfully took part in several architecture competitions in the 1950s. He built mainly in Nuremberg ( Zollhaus , Neuselsbrunn , Herrnhütte and Reichelsdorf-Nord), but also in other cities such as Würzburg ( Heuchelhof ) park housing complexes. From 1950 to 1960 he was the first and only chairman of the professional association of visual artists Nürnberg Mittelfranken e. V.

In 1966 he became professor for urban planning at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg . He founded the Nuremberg Urban Development Institute and was involved in the Association of German Architects .

His plans for a reconstruction of the Nuremberg city wall between Königs- and Marientor (KÖMA, 1968) failed.
