Gerhard Gollnow (born October 15, 1936 ) is a former German soccer player who played 67 games with 30 goals for Hannover 96 in the Oberliga Nord between 1958 and 1962 .

career

Amateur, until 1958

As a player of Wolfenbütteler SV , the young striker recommended himself for the association selection in the rounds of 1956/57 and 1957/58 in the amateur Oberliga Ost in Lower Saxony. As a center forward, Gollnow was part of the winning team from Lower Saxony in the regional cup on June 16, 1957 against Westphalia. He scored a goal to win 3-2 after extra time. Willi Giesemann from VfL Wolfsburg was his strike partner on half right. As the defending champion, Gollnow and his teammates Jürgen Moll , Werner Olk and Horst Wilkening lost the final on June 1, 1958 with 0: 2 against the Lower Rhine . The DFB called the offensive talent to the two international matches of the German national soccer team of amateurs in May 1958. Gollnow made his debut on May 4, 1958 in the 2-4 defeat at Le Mans against France. Three days later, on May 7th, Gollnow scored two goals at the side of Peter Grosser and Klaus Matischak in a 5-1 win in Gelsenkirchen against Curaçao . For the round 1958/59 he was a contract player at Hannover 96 in the Oberliga Nord.

Hannover 96, 1958 to 1962

The striker from Wolfenbüttel played the first game in the Oberliga Nord on the start day of the round 1958/59, on August 17, 1958, in the 0-0 draw at Bremerhaven 93 alongside Hans Tkotz and Heinz Wewetzer . In the third season at Hannover 96, 1960/61, Gollnow completed 26 games and scored 12 goals. Hanover ended up in fifth place in the table. Due to injury, he was only able to play two games in the league in 1961/62. His last appearance was on February 11, 1962, when the 96 lost the game with 1: 2 goals at St. Pauli. After 67 appearances with 30 goals, Gerhard Gollnow's senior league career ended.

He played two games in the trade fair cup : on January 7, 1959 in the away game against AS Roma , where the center forward scored the opening goal to 1-0 in the fourth minute, and on September 13, 1960 in the clear 8-2 defeat at Inter Milan . In the game against the team of coach Helenio Herrera , he contributed the intermittent 2-2 equalizer in the 61st minute.
