Yamparáez is a town in the Chuquisaca department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Yamparáez is the seat of the administration of the Municipio Yamparáez in the province of the same name Yamparáez and is located in the ridge of the Bolivian Cordillera Central at an altitude of 3,098  m .

Yamparáez lies between the Altiplano and the Bolivian lowlands in the ridge of the Bolivian Cordillera Central . The climate is a cool, moderate mountain climate with a typical time of day climate , in which the temperature differences fluctuate more strongly during the day than during the year.

Yamparáez is 28 kilometers by road southeast of the departmental capital Sucre .

The village is located on the 976 kilometer long highway Ruta 6 , which connects Sucre with the Bolivian lowlands and the local metropolis of Santa Cruz . The highway through Yamparáez is paved both to the west to Sucre and to the east to Tarabuco , 39 kilometers away , on the further way to the east it is unpaved.

Yamparáez is also connected to Sucre and Tarabuco by a single-track railway line, but this line is no longer in service.
