Gerhard Grau (born October 27, 1947 in Homberg (Efze) ), called "Gerdchen", is a former German football player .

Life

Grau came to KSV Hessen Kassel from FC Homberg in 1968 . There he played 119 games in the Regionalliga Süd until he moved to Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga in Berlin for the 1972/73 season as a tricky, fast right winger and attacking midfielder . From 1972 to 1978 he made 157 Bundesliga appearances and scored 13 goals. Once he was called up to the B national team. On May 28, 1977, Gerhard Grau stood for Hertha BSC in the final of the DFB Cup against 1. FC Cologne , which ended 1-1 after extra time. He was also used in the due replay two days later, which ended with a 0-1 defeat for Berliners.

For the 1978/79 season Grau returned to KSV Hessen Kassel in the Oberliga Hessen and rose with this team in 1980 in the divided 2. Bundesliga South . One year later he qualified with KSV Hessen for the newly created single-track 2nd Bundesliga, where he was active until 1984. In total, he played 125 second division games for KSV and scored two goals.

Since his return to Hessen Kassel, Gerhard Grau has lived in Ellenberg near Guxhagen . After 1984 he was still active as a player coach at FSV Bergshausen and TSV Wolfsanger .

After his football career, Gerhard Grau ran the “Treff am Kö” beer bar in Kassel until 2015.
