Gerhard Knappstein

Gerhard Knappstein (* 1948 ) is a German mechanical engineer and book author .

He became known u. a. through several of his books on the subject of technical mechanics . This includes statics, in particular the cutting principle , kinematics and kinetics and problems relating to strength theory - solved in detail , all of which have now been published in several editions by the Harri Deutsch publishing house .

Gerhard Knappstein completed an apprenticeship as a toolmaker and studied mechanical engineering before working in the industry as a calculation engineer for three years . Knappstein has been working as a research assistant at the Institute for Mechanics and Control Engineering in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Siegen for a long time .
