The publishing house Harri Deutsch was a book publisher founded in 1961 with headquarters in Frankfurt am Main and Thun with its full name Wissenschaftlicher Verlag Harri Deutsch GmbH . His focus was on textbooks and reference works on the subjects of mathematics , natural sciences and technology , mostly licensed editions from publishers in the then Eastern Bloc . This included German translations or books from the GDR for the West German market. The books generally addressed students; however, popular scientific works were also offered.

A bestseller was the paperback of mathematics by I. N. Bronstein and K. A. Semendjajew , edited by Gerhard Musiol and Heiner Mühlig. The series of textbooks on theoretical physics by Walter Greiner was also a great success . The publishing house published the series Ostwald's classics of the exact sciences of the Academic Publishing Society in the West.

The publisher Harri Deutsch died in 2000. On May 31, 2013 the publisher ended its active business. The rights and stocks of selected titles were transferred to the Europa-Lehrmittel publishing house .
