Gabriele Brakebusch

Gabriele Brakebusch MdL

Gabriele Brakebusch (born February 23, 1954 in Kloster Gröningen ) is a German politician of the CDU party . She is the President of the State Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

Brakebusch attended the polytechnic high school and completed vocational training as a specialist saleswoman and manager. From 1973 to 1980 she then worked as a specialist saleswoman and manager of a sales facility, before working as manager of a children's facility (recognized educator ) from 1981 to 1993 . In 1984 she also obtained a technical college degree as a day nursery teacher and director. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, she began retraining as an administrative clerk in 1995 . She has been working in this profession since 1994 (the employment relationship has been suspended since 2002).

She is Protestant, married and has three children.

Politics / party

Brakebusch joined the CDU in 1998 and was the local association chairwoman in Harbke-Sommersdorf until 2012. She has been a member of the Bördekreis district council since 2000 and is CDU district chairwoman there. She has also been a member of the CDU state executive since 2003. She was also a member of the Harbke municipal council from 1990 to 1998 (CDU list) and from 1992 to 1994 also deputy mayor. Since 2003 she has been a member of the local council and CDU parliamentary group leader in the district council .

She has been a member of the State Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt since the beginning of the 4th electoral term (2002) . She has been President of the State Parliament since September 1, 2016.
