Frank Imhoff (born October 23, 1968 in Bremen ) is a German farmer and politician ( CDU ). Since July 2019 he has been President of the Bremen Parliament, of which he has been a member since 1999.

Life

Family, education and work

After finishing secondary school, Frank Imhoff completed an apprenticeship as a farmer at the agricultural vocational school in Wildeshausen from 1985 to 1988 . He then attended the one-year technical college of vocational schools 3 in the city of Oldenburg, which he graduated in 1989 as a "state-certified economist". From 1990 to 1995 Imhoff worked as an employee in a farm and at the same time completed an apprenticeship as a landscape manager .

In 1996 he took over his parents' farm, which he still runs as an independent farmer with his family in the 5th generation. The Imhoff family's dairy farm is located in the Strom district of Bremen .

Frank Imhoff is married and has three children.

politics

Imhoff is chairman of the CDU city district association in Niedervieland and a member of the Bremen CDU state board. Since June 29, 1999 he has been a member of Bremen's citizenship. There he is a member of the state and municipal deputation for climate, environment, agriculture and animal welfare. Imhoff is the parliamentary group spokesman for agriculture. In his role as President of the Bremen Citizenship, he is also chairman of the constitution and rules of procedure committee and the Low German Advisory Board .

After the 2015 election, Frank Imhoff was elected Vice President of the Bremen Citizenship. After the Bremen state election on May 26, 2019, from which the CDU emerged as the strongest force for the first time in the history of the state, Imhoff was proposed by his parliamentary group for the office of mayor president. At the meeting of the citizenship on July 3, 2019 he was elected President of the citizenship.
