Antje Grotheer (2019)

Antje Grotheer (born January 25, 1967 in Bremen ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was President of the Bremen Parliament in 2019 . She is currently the Deputy President of the Bremen Citizenship.

biography

Family, education and work

Grotheer studied law at the University of Bremen from 1986 to 1991 . From 1991 to 1995 she was a research assistant at the University of Bremen in the law department. From 1995 to 1997 she completed her legal clerkship . From 1998 to 2003 she worked as a lawyer and from 2000 to 2003 as a public relations officer and office manager at the SPD regional organization in Bremen . From 2003 to 2007 she worked as a personal advisor to the Senator for Education and Science and from 2003 to 2008 as a personal advisor to Senator Willi Lemke .

Since 2007 she has worked as a government director at the Senator for Home Affairs and Sport, in 2008 as a personal advisor to Senator Ulrich Mäurer and since October 2008 head of a department.

She is married to Wolfgang Grotheer , has two children and lives in Bremen- Schwachhausen .

Grotheer was a member of the board of the federal student council from 1984 to 1985. She has been a member of the SPD since 1985. In the 1980s she was active in the Jusos and was u. a. Deputy state chairwoman and Juso chairwoman of the Bremen-East sub-district.

Since 1990 she has held various functions in the SPD local association-Schwachausen, including a. as deputy local club chairman. She is active in the Working Group of Social Democratic Lawyers (ASJ). Since 2003 she has been working in the Working Group of Social Democratic Women (ARSP) and was deputy regional chairwoman of the ARSP from 2004 to 2008. From 1999 to 2007 she was a member of the advisory board of the Bremen- Schwachhausen district .

Since the 18th legislative term it is since 8 June 2011 Member of the Bremen City Parliament. There she is represented in the committee for science, media, data protection and freedom of information as media policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group, in the works committee "Umweltbetrieb Bremen", in the legal committee, in the judges committee, in the constitution and rules committee, board of the Bremen citizenship and in the electoral examination court.

From November 2011 to December 2012 she was chair of the parliamentary committee of inquiry into hospital germs; since July 2014 she has been the deputy chairwoman and SPD chairwoman of the parliamentary investigative committee on hospital construction.

In the 19th electoral term in July 2015, she was elected deputy group leader.

On March 27, 2019, Antje Grotheer was elected as the successor to the late Christian Weber as President of the Bremen Parliament.
