Klaus Keitel

Klaus Keitel (born February 5, 1939 in Naumburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

He completed his education at the Franckesche Stiftungen Oberschule in Halle (Saale) , at the College of Finance in Gotha and finally at the Martin Luther University in Halle - Wittenberg . There he also did his doctorate. From 1963 to 1967 he also worked for the German Central Bank in Halle. He then worked in the sugar and starch industry from 1967 to 1990. After the fall of the Wall in January 1990, he finally started a journalistic activity at the Halle Reformhaus .

He is Protestant, married and has three children.

Politics / party

Klaus Keitel has been a member of the CDU since May 1990.

MP

From the beginning of the 1st electoral term (1990) to the 3rd electoral term (1998–2002) he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt . There he also held the office of President of the State Parliament from 1990 to 1998 . He was also chairman of the finance committee and chairman of the audit subcommittee.

Awards

On January 31, 2007, Klaus Keitel was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Saxony-Anhalt . He was the first bearer of the newly introduced order. Prime Minister Wolfgang Böhmer (CDU) gave the laudation and said: “With this medal, with this award, his great merits in building democratic structures in Saxony-Anhalt and his voluntary commitment in the field of disabled and rehabilitation sports in our state, for children with cancer and multiple handicapped children in Halle and his work in the foundation Rechtsstaat Sachsen-Anhalt are honored. "
