Goran Ćurko

Goran Ćurko (born August 21, 1968 in Novi Sad ) is a former football player from Serbia . The professional stations of the 1.91 meter tall goalkeeper in Germany were 1. FC Nürnberg , Tennis Borussia Berlin , 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig , Kickers Offenbach , SSV Reutlingen and Arminia Bielefeld .

Ćurko started his career in Serbia in Novi Sad and in 1995 moved from FK Bečej to Germany to VfL Herzlake, from where he moved to the second division club 1. FC Nürnberg after good performances. There he played 34 games and moved to Tennis Borussia Berlin in the regional league . There he converted a penalty in the promotion relegation game against Sportfreunde Siegen when the score was 0-0; "TeBe" then rose to the 2nd Bundesliga . Ćurko was replaced in the next season by the Swiss Andreas Hilfiker as the goalkeeper. After brief interludes at 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig and Kickers Offenbach, he moved to Arminia Bielefeld, but was dismissed there after a scandalous game. The last stop of his career in Germany was SSV Reutlingen. Then he returned to his homeland, where he played for various clubs.

Ćurko played 183 professional games in Germany and scored two goals, both from penalties.

controversy

Ćurko caused a scandal at Arminia Bielefeld in 2000 against SV Waldhof Mannheim when he left the field independently in the 63rd minute after persistent screams from his own fans in response to his provocations and obscene gestures and had to be replaced by Dennis Eilhoff . He was released a few days later.
