Gerhard Konopa

Gerhard Konopa (born January 4, 1935 in Herne ; † May 23, 2002 ibid) was a German painter and color designer.

Life

Gerhard Konopa studied free and applied painting from 1957 to 1959 at the Werkkunstschule Dortmund a. a. with Professors Gustav Deppe and Wilhelm Strauss and with Bruno Foltynowicz. During his studies he went on an extensive study trip to the south of France. Konopa later worked as a color designer and was responsible for a variety of facade designs (private houses, industrial buildings, reception halls). As part of this activity, he also gave numerous lectures (e.g. at the German Painting Day). In addition, he worked as a freelance painter until his death in 2002 and took part in exhibitions at home and abroad.
