Gerhard Respondek
Gerhard Respondek (born February 11, 1927 in Berlin ; † July 2, 2001 in Cologne ) was a German screenwriter and director .
Life
After studying at the “Hans Otto” theater school in Leipzig , Gerhard Respondek worked as a dramaturge in the DEFA studios for feature films in Potsdam-Babelsberg . He later directed various productions for GDR television and DEFA . He was married to the GDR actress Ursula Rank from 1952 to 1962 . In 1962 he married again and in the 1980s he moved to the Federal Republic of Germany, where he worked as a screenwriter for WDR in Cologne .
