Gerhard Treutlein

Gerhard Treutlein (born December 23, 1940 ) is a German sports teacher and was a professor at the Heidelberg University of Education (PH).

Life

In the 1960s, Treutlein first trained young athletes , and from 1969 also adults up to the Olympic level . He has been a member of USC Heidelberg since 1959 and was involved as an athlete, trainer and later as chairman. From 1972 to 2007 he was head of the athletics discipline in the General German University Sports Association (ADH) and was responsible for the athletics student national team 17 times at Universiaden .

Treutlein studied history, sports and French at the University of Heidelberg from 1960 to 1967 and received his doctorate in history in 1970. From 1971 to 2007 he was first assistant, then professor for sports education at the University of Education in Heidelberg . Since his retirement he has been head of the Center for Doping Prevention at the PH Heidelberg. In close cooperation with the German Sports Youth (dsj), materials and seminars for doping prevention were developed (focus: peer education).

In 2009 he received the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany for his services in voluntary work in sport, for the promotion of Franco-German relations, for his contribution to the history of doping in leadership sport and in the area of ​​doping prevention .
