Gerhard Venzmer (born June 1, 1893 in Ludwigslust ; † October 16, 1986 in Vaduz ) was a German physician and writer.

Life

Gerhard Venzmer was born as the son of a teacher and from 1911 studied medicine, biology and philosophy in Rostock, Berlin, Munich and Hamburg. He became active in the Corps Vandalia Rostock in 1913 . After the First World War, which he experienced as a soldier, he received his doctorate in Berlin in 1919. Gerhard Venzmer traveled to the Orient, Africa, India, China, Japan and America. In 1928 he began working as an editor for the Stuttgart magazine Kosmos , a popular science magazine published by Franckh-Verlag Stuttgart .

Until 1963 Venzmer worked as a general practitioner in Stuttgart, specializing in glandular disorders and hormonal diseases. He then settled in Vaduz , Liechtenstein , from 1970 he was a citizen of the principality. Here he wrote several reports and books over a five-year voyage as a ship's doctor.
