Gerhard Voss (musician)
Gerhard Voss (* 1939 ) is a German violinist . From 1975 to 2005 he taught violin and chamber music at the Stuttgart University of Music. Voss played second violin in the Melos Quartet .
Life and artistic work
Gerhard Voss was a founding member of the Melos Quartet in 1965, which he left in 1993. He plays a violin made by Giovanni Battista Rogeri .
From 1975 Gerhard Voss worked as a lecturer for string quartet playing and from 1980 to 2005 as professor for violin and chamber music at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart.
Together with his wife Brigitte Dürr-Voss, Gerhard Voss runs a music gallery in the farm buildings of the Mühlhausen moated castle .
